Breast Augmentation Case 2

There are many different techniques and approaches for breast augmentation. Dr. Najafian’s preferred technique is using smooth silicone implants - because of both their natural outcomes and safety profile- via inframammary fold incision (IMF) in subfascial plane.

This patient is 2 weeks after surgery. The breast continues to settle down over the implant and takes an even more natural shape with the final shape achieved around 6 months.

The subfascial technique is shown to achieve the best outcome in breast augmentation surgery in multiple studies including a very well designed study with long term follow up that was selected as the best paper of the most prestigious journal of plastic and reconstructive surgery (PRS).

In this technique, the pectoralis muscle is NOT dissected of the chest wall, which makes the recovery significantly smoother, does NOT affect the function of the muscle, does NOT result in animation deformity, has lower rate of capsular contracture (creation of thick scar tissue around the implant) and does NOT result in waterfall deformity (breast tissue and muscle sliding off the implant in long term).
